We use Certified Organic FCF (Bergaptene Free) Bergamot Essential Oil from Italy.
The oil is pressed from the nearly-ripe fruit, which resembles a small orange. Indeed it is thought that the Bergamot tree first came into existence by cross breeding a sweet lemon and bitter orange tree.

Bergamot Oil Aroma
Used to give the classic Earl Grey tea its perfume, Bergamot smells lemony with a balsamic tinge, it is sweet yet woody and fresh. We love it in our Divine Blend Treatment Oil.
Originally an Asiatic tree, the Bergamot was given its name from the city where is was first cultivated – Bergamot in Italy. During Napoleonic times it was fashionable to use Bergamot oil as a perfume, and today it still is one of the most widely used eau-de-cologne perfume ingredients. It has been used to treat a wide array of complaints including respiratory problems as well as to heal cuts and skin problems like chicken pox.
