Ingredients

Properties

The Glow Botanical Gel is made with 10 botanicals:
Aloe vera contains many different active constituents including vitamins, enzymes, minerals, salicylic and amino acids. It is cooling and anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants and minerals, great for sunburn (mild to moderate - for severe burns see a doctor). Aloe vera is moisturising without being greasy. It has anti-ageing properties with vitamins. It can help diminish fine lines and blemishes. Aloe vera stimulates fibroblasts which produce the collagen & elastin fibres making skin more elastic and less wrinkled. It helps increase collagen production and skin elasticity. It contains humectants, binds moisture into skin. Its effects result in softer skin and improved skin integrity.

Seaweed is an excellent sources of polyphenols and iodine, used to reduce the effects of sun damage and promote elasticity in skin. It is nutrient-rich, with antioxidants and detoxifying properties. Its mineral content acts as a shield against environmental pressures. It has reported as being able to stimulate collagen production, reduce wrinkle depth, improve skin texture. It is often used in anti-cellulite products.

Pea extract is a potent extract used to protect skin from environmental stresses - pollution and free radical damage from UV, plus ageing. It helps to improve skin elasticity and can be used to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. It strengthens the skin's response to outside pressures so that potential damage is reduced.

Green Tea extract is used for its antioxidant free radical-scavenging properties, making it skin protecting and anti-ageing. It can help skin after sun exposure, as well as aiming to prevent wrinkles or skin redness. Naturally contains polyphenols and alkaloids including caffeine. It is moisturising and has a positive effect on the complexion of skin.

Hyaluronic acid (plant source). Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body. It is a super hydrating ingredient that can hold over 600x its weight in water, so when applied to skin it can plump the complexion giving it fullness and volume. A linear polysaccaride, it works by drawing moisture to the skin & holding it there. It helps keep skin moisturised and glowing. It can help to prevent the development of wrinkles, and fill in any wrinkles already there to reduce appearance.

Jojoba oil nourishes dry skin, smoothes out ageing skin, balances oily skin; it is one of the finest cosmetic ingredients. Has an affinity with our skin so is easily absorbed.

Olive Squalane soothes and moisturises skin, helps skin to keep onto its moisture, leaving the complexion radiant and glowing.

Sweet Orange essential oil has such an uplifting scent we love it. On skin it supports collagen production and is a general tonic for all skin types, brightening dull and ageing skin, whilst its astringent action benefits oily & acne-prone skin.

Peppermint oil naturally contains menthol making it cooling and soothing for skin, leaving it feeling fresh and glowing. It can also help reduce excess oil on skin making it great for oily / combination skin types. It is used to relieve itching, inflammation and sunburn. It leaves skin soft.

Lavender oil is arguably the number one essential oil chosen to heal skin conditions, especially burns, making it ideal for using as an aftersun ingredient. It has ant-inflammatory and detoxing properties, and is also used to soothe and calm the skin.

Ways to Use

Hydrating facial moisturiser: use the light-weight Glow Botanical Gel to moisturise all skin types. You can either use it as your sole moisturiser, or under / on top of your facial oil / cream moisturiser to act as a nutrient boost gel serum on your skin.  Its super hydrating ingredients including aloe vera and hyaluronic acid will leave skin plump and with a healthy dewy glow.

We love to use it on top of our facial oil in the morning to protect skin with its antioxidants, then in the evening we apply it straight after cleansing to add its antioxidants and calming properties to skin that's been out in the elements, followed by our facial oil.

Eye gel: The Glow Botanical Gel has been formulated to really hydrate and replenish skin, used around the delicate eye area it not only feels amazing & cool but will also deliver hard-working plant actives to that area - green tea, hyaluronic acid and pea extract excel here. To use, get a small amount of gel on your ring fingers and gently tap on the eye contour area in a semi-circle from under the eye up to and across the brown bone.

Skin defence / anti-pollution skincare: The rich antioxidant content of this formula means it's a serious weapon in your fight against environmental stresses such as air pollution and free radicals from the sun. Pollution affects collagen, can damage the skin barrier, causes skin ageing and more. The antioxidants in ingredients such as green tea and seaweed extract 'mop up' the free radicals stopping them from damaging the skin barrier. The Glow Botanical Gel also forms a breathable layer to protect the skin. Apply on the face daily when you'll be exposed to air pollution (our smaller tins are perfect for carrying in a handbag for when needed), and / or apply in the evening after cleansing to protect the skin. Use it under your sunscreen for a second line of defence. Please note the gel is not a sunscreen.

Body moisturiser - apply after bath or shower to hydrate skin leaving it super soft and glowing. It absorbs quickly so no need to wait before getting dressed after applying. It feels lush on legs that have just been shaved.

After-Sun - the Glow Botanical Gel is the *perfect* aftersun. Absorbed quickly it will cool soothe & calm skin that's been out in the sun. Aloe vera, green tea, lavender and peppermint oil excel as after-sun ingredients. Simply apply gel to skin that's been exposed to the sun; it will replenish lost nutrients & hydration, whilst helping to protect it from further free radical damage.

After Shaving - whether you're shaving a beard, legs, under arms or anywhere else, apply the Glow Botanical Gel afterwards to hydrate the skin and soothe it.

Cool skin - when it's hot outside, or you're suffering a hot flush / flash, this super cooling watery gel will feel wonderful. Apply some to your cheeks, neck, top of back, feet.

Soothe skin - this lovely gel feels so lush on skin, next time you suffer from dry / itchy skin then apply a little of this gel to cool and soothe, plus the hydrating ingredients will work towards stopping the cause of skin dryness.

Pro-ageing skincare - using a hydrating gel serum moisturiser like this one can help to plump out fine lines and wrinkles, and stop more from forming, by seriously moisturising skin & containing lots of antioxidants. The antioxidant containing ingredients including aloe vera, seaweed, green tea and pea extract help to mop up free radicals which can cause skin damage & ageing.
