Evening Primrose Plant Description & History

Extracted from the seeds of the Evening primrose plant, who’s flowers only open in the evening, hence its name. The plant is originally from America, introduced to Europe in 1619.

Evening Primrose oil has been heralded for centuries for its healing properties of a number of ailments, it was once known as “the King’s cure-all” and “nature’s healer”.

Used for millennia by the Native Americans for treatments ranging from wounds to breathing problems. It is now used to aid hormonal skin problems, which it can help due to its high Gamma Linolenic Acid (omega 6) levels.
