Avocado History

Avocados are native to Central Mexico and evidence has been found of them being eaten 10,000 years ago. The Aztecs, Incas and Mayans had many myths that included it; the Aztecs thought of it as “the fruit of the kings”, and as a luxurious aphrodisiac. The Mayans reserved it for their royal tables. It was brought over to Europe after the Spanish invasion of the Americas.
