Cypress oil is an age-old remedy for inflammatory conditions, as well as to calm the mind. The tree wood has been used in ships and homes for millennia, is referred to in ancient texts, and gave the island of Cyprus its name. 

Uses for Cypress Oil

• A study from 2014 of Cypress Oil compounds showed antimicrobial properties suggesting it could be used as a mild preservative; this antibacterial property would make Cypress Oil a great addition to DIY home cleaning blends – try adding 10 drops of each Cypress and Orange oil to a spray bottle of 50% water and white vinegar.
• This oil works to balance and curb excesses, meaning it is good for oily skins or in blends to help excessive sweating.
• Cypress essential oil can be both invigorating and calming – diffuse some before going for a run, then add a few drops to a bath to relax you and your muscles.
